Prohibition signs are used to prevent unsafe actions and restrict dangerous behaviour in workplaces and public areas.

The Health and Safety Regulations 1996 detail that Prohibition Signs must be displayed to prohibit certain behaviour and access to certain areas. Prohibition Signs must have a black pictogram encircled by a red band and then dissected by a red diagonal bar, the red will form 35% of the sign.
